Meet Our Staff

Amanda Proctor
Amanda ProctorKindergarten Teacher
Amanda Proctor graduated from UBC – Okanagan where she earned her B.Ed. degree in 2006. Relocating shortly thereafter to join her husband in Victoria, she began teaching immediately in the public school system as a substitute teacher. In 2007, she began working at Selkirk Montessori School and soon became a permanent teacher in a grade 5 / 6 classroom, a position she held for 1 ½ years. In addition, during her time on Vancouver Island, Amanda also had the opportunity to tutor children while working for Smart Tutors and was a youth leader at the YMCA. In 2009, Amanda and her husband moved from Victoria to Alberta.
Amanda has been the Kindergarten ECE teacher for Pathway Montessori since 2012 (except for maternity leave in 2015 with her second child). “Building harmony, understanding and common acceptance is a life – long assignment for me. I want students to experience meaningful and interesting learning that they can apply in their lives.”
Badrani Perera
Badrani PereraMontessori Directress
Badrani Perera received her Diploma in Montessori studies from Sri Lanka in 1993. She brings valuable experience, dedication and tender loving care to the children of her class. She is a mother of twin boys that are 16 years old. Badrani has accumulated experience at a few different Calgary Montessori preschools since 1998, and is devoted to working with young children.
Sue Chilcott
Sue ChilcottCalgary Administrator
Sue has been involved with Montessori education since 1989 where she was introduced to the Montessori Method as an assistant in a lower elementary classroom. Sue has a Bachelor of Physical Education from Brock University in Ontario. She obtained her Early Childhood Montessori diploma in 1991 and was a Casa Directress for 15 years. Sue completed her Lower Elementary Montessori diploma in 2004 and continued to work with elementary children until 2014, when she and her husband of 34 years, decided to join their daughters in Calgary. Montessori education provides children with many opportunities to learn, and developing that “love of learning” in each student is a passion for Sue. When she is not in the classroom, Sue and her husband enjoy exploring the country on their motorcycles, having covered most of Canada and the US in their travels. Sue also enjoys reading and spending time with her family and two young granddaughters.
Nancy Graham
Nancy GrahamFounder/Owner
Nancy Graham graduated from Vancouver University College in 1992 where she received both her MACTE Montessori and her Early Childhood Education accreditation. She taught in Montessori preschools until the birth of her son in 1996, then resumed in Nanaimo in 1999. In 2001, Nancy moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta, teaching a Montessori program within the Calgary School Board’s public system. She also taught at Calgary Montessori School before taking the entrepreneurial leap to open her own school.

She established Pathway Montessori Preschool in Calgary in 2005, and founded the Woodpark Montessori Society in 2008, a non-profit society that governs the public-funded kindergarten program at the preschool. As her own children were making the transition to high school in 2009, Nancy made the decision to return home to B.C., where she opened her first preschool expansion in Langley. She opened a second location in Fort Langley in 2011.
