Meet Our Staff
Nancy Graham
Founder/Owner
Nancy Graham graduated from Vancouver University College in 1992 where she received both her MACTE Montessori and her Early Childhood Education accreditation. She taught in Montessori preschools until the birth of her son in 1996, then resumed in Nanaimo in 1999. In 2001, Nancy moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta, teaching a Montessori program within the Calgary School Board’s public system. She also taught at Calgary Montessori School before taking the entrepreneurial leap to open her own school. She established Pathway Montessori Preschool in Calgary in 2005, and founded the Woodpark Montessori Society in 2008, a non-profit society that governs the public-funded kindergarten program at the preschool. As her own children were making the transition to high school in 2009, Nancy made the decision to return home to B.C., where she opened her first preschool expansion in Langley Township. In 2011 she opened Pathway Montessori Children’s Center in Fort Langley.
Sarah Bruland
Educator Assistant
Sarah was born in Bolivia and immigrated to Canada in 2009. After her son was born in 2012 she met a Montessori teacher in the neighbourhood park. During their subsequent friendship Sarah learned about the Montessori teaching approach. As a result, she enrolled her son into a Montessori Preschool and later in Montessori Kindergarten and Elementary School that he still attends. In 2019 Sarah completed an AMI Montessori Assistant Program with the Montessori Training Centre of BC for her British Columbia ECE assistant certificate. Also, Sarah received her St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid certificate in 2019. She has been with Pathway Montessori Children’s Center since the spring of 2019 and has attended annual MTC workshops.
Arti Kapoor
Montessori Co-Directress
Arti has been working with children for over 15 years. In 2007, she completed her Montessori Teacher Certification from Collin County Community College in Dallas, Texas, USA. In 2007 she moved to Canada, and while taking care of her son, worked part time in the Out of School Care Program for four years. In 2013, she obtained her ECE Assistant license and started working full time in a Montessori School. In November of 2019 she completed her ECE Certification Program from Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute and has been working as a Montessori Directress at Pathway Montessori Children’s Center.
